About

A Data Scientist collects, cleans and studies large amounts of data to find patterns and insights. They use programming (Python, SQL), statistics and machine learning to build models that predict customer behaviour, improve products or cut costs. In Pakistan, data scientists work in tech companies, banks, e-commerce, telecom and government. The field is growing fast because more businesses want to use data to compete.

    Complete Class 9 Maths and Computer Science syllabus with 80%+ marks in school exams

    Build a strong foundation. Focus on algebra, statistics, and basic programming concepts.

  2. Before Class 10 board exams

    Decide on FSc group or A Level subjects

    Choose ICS (Maths-Physics-Computer Science) or Pre-Engineering. If unsure, talk to teachers and alumni.

  3. Class 10 board exams (spring)

    Score 90%+ in Maths and Computer Science in Matric/O Level board exams

    High marks in these subjects strengthen your application for top BS programmes and scholarships.

  4. Summer after Class 10

    Start learning Python basics during summer after Class 10

    Complete a beginner Python course. Build a small project like a calculator or a data summary tool.

What to focus on

  • Mathematics and Computer Science are keyClass 9–10, throughout

    For Data Science, strong Maths (algebra, statistics) and Computer Science (programming logic) are essential. In Matric/O Level, aim for high marks in Maths and Computer Science. These subjects will be the base for FSc/ICS and later BS. Marks in Maths and Computer Science in Matric are considered for some scholarships and university admissions.

  • Subject selection for FSc/A LevelClass 10, before board exams

    The best stream is ICS with Maths, Physics, Computer Science. Pre-Engineering also works. If you take Pre-Medical, you can later do Bioinformatics. Commerce/Arts students need extra maths prep. Decide by Class 10 end.
